As a team, we believe that every resident, no matter the age is vital to the success of a community. As our organization grows, we plan to assess the community's needs to develop programming for residents of any age demographic. Currently, our main event is the VRY BLK Conference. In the future, we look forward to hosting educational events, community service projects, Christmas drives, and other programs that will contribute to developing our people and our environment.

Meet our Founder and CEO

Education is something to share! After holding several leadership positions in her academic and professional career, Elaine did not see the benefit of gaining all of these skills if she did not apply them back to her community. With VRY BLK Inc., Elaine plans to provide several levels of support to the members in East New York and the surrounding Brooklyn community.

Syola Ince Lewis

Social Media and Community Outreach Intern

Syola is a senior at John Jay College majoring in Political Science with a minor in gender studies. Syola hopes that this internship will prove that she is on the right track in her work. She aspire to be a part of a non-profit organization, like VRY BLK, that helps and gives back to its community. Being from Brooklyn and living in many neighborhoods where a sense of community is lost, Syola wants to be a part of something that will bring that back. She is very excited to apply the skills she learn to my career!
